Building a More Data-Informed Growth Strategy
A growth strategy is only as useful as the data behind it. Here's what a data-informed approach actually involves.
It's common for a growth strategy to be built primarily around assumptions — about the audience, about which channels 'work', about what competitors are doing. A data-informed approach doesn't remove judgment from the process, but it grounds that judgment in evidence.
In practice, this starts with an honest inventory: what data do you actually have, how reliable is it, and where are the gaps. Many organizations discover that their tracking has quiet inconsistencies long before they get to strategy questions.
From there, a data-informed strategy tends to prioritize differently than an assumption-led one. Channels that feel important aren't always the ones producing results, and audiences that seem secondary sometimes turn out to be more responsive than expected.
The goal isn't to remove human strategic thinking — it's to make sure that thinking is working from an accurate picture rather than a partial or outdated one.
